The Man Who Fell to Earth

DramaSci-Fi139 min

Thomas Jerome Newton comes to Earth in search of water for his dying planet and turns his alien knowledge into a string of lucrative inventions. David Bowie is Newton, a pale, remote outsider whose plan depends on building the technology to send that water home, with help from Buck Henry’s lawyer Oliver Farnsworth. As his business empire grows, Newton’s carefully controlled mission becomes entangled with life on Earth, especially through Candy Clark’s Mary-Lou, a quiet hotel clerk who draws him into intimacy, pleasure, and the world he meant to leave behind.
