DramaSci-Fi113 min

Oskar Werner is Montag, a fireman in a controlled future where books are outlawed and his job is not to stop fires but to burn literature for the state. As public opinion is managed through censorship and fear, Montag begins to question the morality of the work that has defined him. Julie Christie and Cyril Cusack figure prominently in the world around him as that doubt deepens. François Truffaut’s film imagines its dystopia through regimented routines, television-lit interiors, and ceremonial book burnings that turn everyday obedience into the machinery of control.
