Rising pop idol Mima Kirigoe leaves her group to become an actress, but the career shift quickly turns disorienting as a stalker fixates on her and people around her begin turning up dead. Junko Iwao voices Mima as her public image, private guilt, and the role she’s taken on for a TV crime drama start bleeding into one another. Rica Matsumoto is Rumi, the manager watching Mima’s reinvention with growing concern. Directed by Satoshi Kon, the film threads celebrity pressure, fractured identity, and murder into a story where Mima can no longer tell performance from reality.
