The Mark of Zorro

ActionAdventureDramaFamilyRomanceWestern94 min

Returning home to California in 1820, a young nobleman finds the province under a brutal dictatorship and answers it with a double life. Tyrone Power is a languid aristocrat in public and the masked avenger Zorro in secret, using wit, misdirection, and a flashing sword to strike at the regime while keeping suspicion off himself. Linda Darnell shares the film’s romantic intrigue, and Basil Rathbone enters the contest on the side of the authorities. Behind the mask, the story moves through drawing rooms, military pressure, and precise, formal duels.
