The Adventures of Robin Hood

With King Richard away on the Crusades, Robin of Locksley is driven into Sherwood Forest, where he gathers a band of outlaws and strikes back at Prince John’s rule. Errol Flynn is the famous archer at the center of it all, robbing the powerful, defending Saxon commoners, and trying to win over Olivia de Havilland’s Maid Marian. On the other side, Claude Rains gives Prince John a sly arrogance, while Basil Rathbone’s Sir Guy of Gisbourne becomes Robin’s chief rival. Medieval pageantry, disguises, ambushes, and sword fights carry the story through a vivid version of the Robin Hood legend.
