As German troops enter Prague in March 1939, Czech inventor Axel Bomasch escapes to England, leaving the Gestapo to go after the people around him in their push to control his work. Margaret Lockwood is his daughter, swept into the hunt as borders close and loyalties grow hard to read. Rex Harrison’s British agent trails the operation under a German officer’s disguise, turning the chase into a tangle of espionage, deception, and wartime maneuvering. Moving from occupied Czechoslovakia to England and on toward Munich, the story blends undercover intrigue with a thread of romance under the shadow of the coming war.
