The Wave

DramaThriller107 min

When his students insist a dictatorship could never take hold in modern Germany, high school teacher Rainer Wenger turns a project-week lesson into a social experiment. Jürgen Vogel is Wenger, whose new rules of discipline, unity, and belonging quickly spread beyond the classroom and start reshaping friendships, loyalties, and status at school. As the movement takes on its own identity, Karo (Jennifer Ulrich) is among the first to push back against the pressure to conform. Dennis Gansel’s film keeps its focus on how ordinary teenagers, a charismatic teacher, and a simple classroom exercise can slide toward something much darker.
