Sophie Scholl: The Final Days
CrimeDocumentaryDramaThrillerWar120 min
In 1943 Munich, student activist Sophie Scholl is caught distributing anti-Nazi leaflets for the White Rose and taken into Gestapo custody. Julia Jentsch is Sophie, one of the resistance group’s few female members, facing relentless questioning as the authorities close in on her brother Hans and the rest of the network. With Alexander Held among the men pressing her for names and confessions, the film stays close to interrogation rooms, prison corridors, and the bureaucracy of Nazi Germany at war. Drawn from the true story of Scholl’s last days, it centers on a young woman holding to her beliefs under the full pressure of the Third Reich.
