Starting Over
ComedyRomance105 min
Recently divorced and unsure how to rebuild his life, magazine writer Phil Potter starts a new relationship while still circling the wife who left him. Burt Reynolds is Phil, a middle-aged man thrown off balance when his ambitious singer-songwriter ex, Jessica (Candice Bergen), chooses independence. The person who breaks through his guardedness is Marilyn, a nursery school teacher, with Jill Clayburgh giving the romance an awkward, searching rhythm as Phil tries to move forward without letting the past pull him back.
