The Sunshine Boys

Comedy111 min

Willy Clark is a retired vaudeville comic who hasn’t spoken to his former partner in 20 years, even though the two were once famous together as The Sunshine Boys. When Willy’s nephew Ben (Richard Benjamin), now producing a TV variety special, tries to stage a reunion, old resentments come roaring back into rehearsal. Walter Matthau gives Willy a prickly, worn-down edge, while George Burns’s Al Lewis meets him with his own long memory of every slight. The comedy stays fixed on the narrow space between stage chemistry and personal dislike, with show-business nostalgia and constant bickering driving the setup.
