Mononoke the Movie: The Phantom in the Rain
AnimationAnimeFantasyHorrorMystery90 min
Inside the women’s quarters of an old palace, rank, secrecy, and ritual keep everyone in line until a series of strange disturbances points to something far less orderly. Two new attendants are drawn into the closed world of rivalries and hidden grievances, where every whisper seems tied to a presence no one can name outright. When the Medicine Seller arrives, voiced by Hiroshi Kamiya, he begins the dangerous work required to confront a mononoke: uncovering its Form, its Truth, and its Reason. As fear spreads through the halls, the mystery turns inward, linking the apparition to buried emotions and the rules that keep the household sealed off from the outside world.
