Bloody Sunday
DramaWar111 min
On January 30, 1972, an Irish civil rights march in Derry ends in a massacre when British troops open fire on demonstrators. Paul Greengrass reconstructs the day at street level, moving between the crowd, local organizers, and the chain of command as a planned protest gives way to confusion and gunfire. James Nesbitt leads a large ensemble that also includes Tim Pigott-Smith. The film stays close to the chaos of the march, using a docudrama approach that keeps the focus on the people caught inside a historic atrocity.
