The Siege of Jadotville
ActionAdventureDocumentaryDramaThrillerWar108 min
In 1961, Irish commandant Pat Quinlan is sent to the Congo on a U.N. peacekeeping mission that turns into a siege when his outpost is surrounded by French and Belgian mercenaries. Jamie Dornan is Quinlan, leading a company of Irish soldiers cut off from support as the standoff stretches on under punishing fire. Mark Strong appears among the officials and commanders tied to the wider crisis, as the film follows both the men pinned down at Jadotville and the political machinery around them. Drawn from a true story, it centers on a little-known battle from the Congo Crisis.
