Twenty years after a holiday at a Turkish resort, Sophie pieces together what she saw and what she missed about the father she adored. Frankie Corio is Sophie at 11, moving between poolside afternoons, arcade games, and the first edges of adolescence, while Paul Mescal’s Calum tries to keep the trip light for his daughter as his own struggles stay mostly out of view. Moving between remembered moments and camcorder footage, the film holds on the small details of their time together as Sophie tries to reconcile the affectionate young dad she knew with the harder truths she only understands later.
