The Fabelmans

ComedyDrama152 min

In postwar Arizona, teenager Sammy Fabelman discovers that the home movies he loves making can capture more than family milestones. Gabriel LaBelle is Sammy, a movie-mad kid whose experiments behind the camera grow more ambitious as tensions build between his artistic mother, Mitzi (Michelle Williams), and his methodical father, Burt (Paul Dano). Loosely drawn from Steven Spielberg’s own early life, the film follows Sammy from childhood into high school, where filmmaking becomes both an outlet and a way of seeing the people around him more clearly.
