California Suite
ComedyDramaRomance103 min
At the Beverly Hills Hotel, four separate stories unfold as couples and friends run into private disasters behind suite doors. Jane Fonda's Hannah comes west to see her ex-husband, while Marvin (Walter Matthau) wakes up needing to explain how a strange blonde ended up in his bed. Michael Caine is Sidney Cochran, in town with his wife Diana as she waits on Oscar-night results, and Dr. Chauncey Gump finds himself worn down by a friend's increasingly overbearing behavior. Moving from one suite to the next, the film keeps its focus on brittle marriages, exes, embarrassment, and the polished chaos of a luxury hotel.
