In the Heights
DramaMusicalRomance143 min
Anthony Ramos is Usnavi, a Washington Heights bodega owner counting tips and lottery tickets while weighing whether to leave for the Dominican Republic or stay with the neighborhood that shaped him. Around him, Melissa Barrera and Leslie Grace are part of a block crowded with plans for something better, from love lives and family expectations to money worries and a chance to get out. The film moves through beauty salons, stoops, subway platforms, and cramped apartments, with gossip, protest, and immigration pressures woven into the daily rhythm. When a summer blackout hits, the neighborhood’s hopes and tensions spill into the street.
