Thank You for Smoking
ComedyDrama92 min
Aaron Eckhart is Nick Naylor, Big Tobacco’s polished chief spokesman, paid to defend cigarettes on talk shows and in Washington while trying to remain a role model for his 12-year-old son (Cameron Bright). Nick can charm a room, redirect a headline, and turn a health debate into a language game, but a senator’s campaign against smoking puts that talent under a brighter spotlight. As his work pulls politics, media, and family into the same argument, the film keeps its focus on how spin operates when the product at the center of it is impossible to separate from the damage it causes.
