The Royal Tenenbaums

ComedyDrama110 min

After decades of fallout, Royal Tenenbaum tries to pull his estranged family back under one roof by claiming he is dying. Gene Hackman is Royal, the charming, unreliable patriarch returning to the Manhattan household he once helped splinter, while Anjelica Huston’s Etheline holds together three grown children whose early brilliance has given way to disappointment and drift. Ben Stiller’s Chas is a former finance prodigy turned intensely protective father; Gwyneth Paltrow’s Margot, an adopted daughter and once-famous playwright, barely lets anyone in. Wes Anderson shapes the reunion with storybook detail, dry humor, and years of resentment hanging over every room.
