Salmon Fishing in the Yemen
ComedyDramaRomance107 min
A British fisheries expert is asked to do something he considers absurd: help bring salmon fishing to the Yemeni desert. Ewan McGregor is the skeptical scientist pulled into the scheme by Emily Blunt’s consultant, who represents a wealthy sheikh with both the money and conviction to pursue it. The sheikh (Amr Waked) sees the project as more than a hobby, while Kristin Scott Thomas turns up the pressure as a sharp-tongued press secretary eager for a political success story. As British bureaucracy, media spin, and an improbable engineering challenge close in, the film follows a very unlikely partnership taking shape across London and the Middle East.
