Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day
ComedyDramaRomance92 min
After being fired yet again in London on the eve of World War II, Guinevere Pettigrew stumbles into the orbit of Delysia LaFosse, an American jazz singer whose life is a swirl of parties, admirers, and impossible choices. Frances McDormand is Miss Pettigrew, a strict governess suddenly passing herself off as Delysia’s social secretary, while Amy Adams brings quick charm and nervous momentum to Delysia’s high-society scramble. As Miss Pettigrew is pulled through hotels, dressing rooms, and drawing rooms far outside her usual world, she finds herself managing one increasingly complicated day of romance, ambition, and reinvention.
