CrimeDramaThriller113 min
Jean Gabin is André Chatelin, a respected restaurateur in Paris’s Les Halles whose orderly routine is shaken when Catherine, the daughter of a former wife, arrives alone after her mother’s death. He takes her in and soon marries her, but Danièle Delorme’s Catherine begins drawing both André and a younger student into a tense triangle. As loyalties shift around André’s restaurant and home, Catherine’s account of her past starts to change, and the life he has built begins slipping out of his control.
