Birdy
DramaWar120 min
After Vietnam, Birdy (Matthew Modine) sits nearly mute in an Army hospital, convinced he is a bird. Doctors bring in his boyhood friend Al, and Nicolas Cage’s bruised, impatient veteran tries to reach him by retracing the friendship they built as teenagers in 1960s Philadelphia. As the story moves between the ward and their earlier lives, Birdy’s fixation on flight and Al’s rough loyalty come into focus against the damage both men carry home from war.
