Jeremiah Johnson
ActionAdventureDramaWestern108 min
Robert Redford is Jeremiah Johnson, a former soldier who heads into the 19th-century Rocky Mountains hoping to disappear into a hermit’s life. In Sydney Pollack’s frontier drama, he learns how to trap, hunt, and survive from old-timers like Bear Claw Chris Lapp, with Will Geer giving the veteran mountain man a dry, weathered presence. What begins as a solitary retreat turns into a deadly feud with the Crow Nation after Johnson is drawn into violence he didn’t seek. Cabins, snowbound passes, and long stretches of wilderness shape a Western centered on isolation, survival, and retaliation.
