Search and Destroy

The story

A down-on-his-luck salesman chases one bad idea after another through a Manhattan full of hustlers, hangers-on, and people trying to turn desperation into a deal. Louie, played by Griffin Dunne, latches onto a half-baked scheme that pulls him from dead-end meetings into a mess of shady business, broken relationships, and sudden violence. Every conversation feels like a transaction, whether he is trying to win back his wife or talk his way into money he does not have. As the pressure builds, the film turns its eye on a world where ambition, self-delusion, and survival all sound the same, with odd encounters that keep pushing Louie further off balance.
