Choke
ComedyDrama92 min
Victor Mancini is a med-school dropout and sex addict who works at a colonial theme park and pays for his mother’s care with a calculated scam: he stages choking fits in restaurants, then lets guilty strangers keep sending him money. Sam Rockwell gives Victor a restless, self-sabotaging edge, while Anjelica Huston’s Ida drifts in and out of lucidity from her hospital bed. Between recovery meetings, reenactment shifts, and uneasy visits with his mother’s doctor, Victor keeps circling questions about family, money, and the story he’s been told about himself.
