Father Stu
Drama124 min
An injury ends Stuart Long’s amateur boxing career and sends him to Los Angeles looking for money and fame. Mark Wahlberg is Stu, scraping by as a supermarket clerk when he meets Carmen, a Catholic Sunday school teacher who isn’t moved by his usual charm. Trying to get closer to her draws the longtime agnostic into church, and a motorcycle accident leaves him rethinking what a second chance might be for. Teresa Ruiz is Carmen, while Mel Gibson and Jacki Weaver appear as Stu’s estranged parents, as the story follows his unlikely turn from boxer and drifter toward the Catholic priesthood.
