Swept Away

ActionAdventureComedyDramaRomance116 min

On a luxury yacht off Sardinia, Mariangela Melato’s Raffaella spends a blistering August taunting Gennarino (Giancarlo Giannini), a Communist deckhand she treats with open contempt. When the two are swept away and stranded on a deserted island, the social order that governed life on board collapses. Survival, class resentment, sexual power, and political swagger begin to reshape their relationship as Mediterranean glamour gives way to heat, hunger, and isolation.
