The Aeronauts
ActionAdventureDramaRomance101 min
In 1862, daredevil balloon pilot Amelia Wren joins pioneering meteorologist James Glaisher for a record-breaking ascent meant to push weather science into the clouds. Felicity Jones is Amelia, a showwoman with nerves to spare, alongside Eddie Redmayne’s Glaisher, whose ambition is fixed on going higher than anyone in history. Much of the film unfolds high above Victorian England as their expedition leaves the ground far behind and runs into brutal cold, thinning air, and the fragile limits of their craft. What starts as scientific discovery becomes a fight to survive the climb.
