An extra-credit assignment in a Las Vegas junior high sends 12-year-old Trevor McKinney looking for a way to change the world one good deed at a time. Haley Joel Osment is Trevor, who proposes a simple chain reaction: instead of paying a favor back, each person passes it on to three others. Trevor’s idea takes shape between school and home, where his scarred social studies teacher Eugene Simonet (Kevin Spacey) pushes him to think bigger and his single mother Arlene struggles to hold their life together.
