Strangers on a Train

CrimeDramaThriller101 min

Tennis star Guy Haines is pulled into a nightmare after a stranger on a train proposes that they swap murders. Farley Granger is Guy, already trying to untangle himself from an unfaithful wife and move forward with Laura Elliott (Ruth Roman), when Robert Walker’s Bruno Antony fixes on him with smiling persistence. Alfred Hitchcock builds the setup around Bruno’s idea of a “perfect” crime and the damage that follows when Guy realizes the conversation was never casual. Penn Station crowds, cocktail parties, and a crucial tennis match all become places where Bruno can keep pressing closer.
