The Walk
ActionAdventureDocumentaryDramaThriller123 min
In 1974, French high-wire artist Philippe Petit becomes consumed by an impossible plan: to rig a cable between the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center and walk it. Joseph Gordon-Levitt is Petit, following the dream from street performance in Paris to a covert operation in New York, where every detail of the stunt has to be mapped out in secret. Ben Kingsley’s Papa Rudy, a veteran circus hand, becomes his demanding mentor as Petit gathers a small team to help pull it off. Robert Zemeckis frames the true story around the logistics, nerve, and spectacle of getting one man into the open air above Manhattan.
