Funny Face

ComedyMusicalRomance103 min

Jo Stockton is a shy Greenwich Village bookshop clerk whose quiet life changes when a fashion magazine shoot crashes into her store. Audrey Hepburn is Jo, an intellectual outsider suddenly pulled into the glossy world of couture after photographer Dick Avery notices her face. Fred Astaire’s Dick brings her to Paris to model for a major campaign, while Jo resists the role she’s being asked to inhabit. Moving between bookish Village sensibilities and Paris fashion fantasy, the story folds romance and musical numbers into a makeover plot built around photo shoots, magazine ego, and Jo’s uneasy place inside it.
