In 1950s London, celebrated dressmaker Reynolds Woodcock runs the House of Woodcock with exacting discipline, aided at every turn by his sister Cyril. Daniel Day-Lewis is Reynolds, whose routines and romances are tightly managed until Alma (Vicky Krieps), a young waitress, enters his life and becomes both muse and partner. Lesley Manville’s Cyril keeps the business moving and watches the new relationship unsettle the household’s balance. Paul Thomas Anderson places their shifting power dynamic inside a world of fittings, breakfast rituals, society clients, and couture work shaped as much by control as by affection.
