Young Törless
Drama87 min
At an Austrian military academy in the early 20th century, a quiet student watches as a group of boys turn their rigid school world into a private regime of cruelty. When they single out a classmate for humiliation and abuse, Törless is drawn into the circle around the tormentors instead of stepping away. He is repelled by what he sees, but also fascinated by the power, secrecy, and logic the boys use to justify it. As the abuse grows more systematic, his attempts to understand it leave him trapped between thought and action, forcing him to confront what the school’s discipline is really teaching.
