The Story of Ruth
DramaRomance132 min
When Naomi is widowed and decides to leave Moab for Israel, only her daughter-in-law Ruth refuses to let her go alone. Elana Eden is Ruth, one of two Moabite women married into Naomi’s family; after the deaths of Naomi’s husband and sons, she chooses loyalty over the life she has known. Peggy Wood’s Naomi makes the journey home carrying grief and uncertainty, with Ruth beside her. The film takes the Old Testament story as a romance and family drama, centered on exile, widowhood, and Ruth’s vow that she will not desert the woman who has become her mother.
