Jackie, a secretary at a large New York law firm, invites coworker Michael over for dinner, hoping a first date might break the routine of two lonely office lives. Karen Sillas gives Jackie a careful reserve, while Michael (Tom Noonan) arrives with his own nerves and assumptions, and the evening settles into small talk, misread signals, and increasingly exposed personal history. Nearly all of it unfolds inside Jackie’s apartment, where every pause, joke, and shift in tone changes what the night seems to mean.
