Sensei, Would You Sit Beside Me?

DramaRomance119 min

Sawako, a manga writer, channels her suspicion into the page when she starts drawing a new story about adultery — one that mirrors her own marriage to fellow artist Toshio a little too closely. Haru Kuroki and Tasuku Emoto center the film as a couple whose private doubts spill into their work: in Sawako’s manga, Toshio strays with her editor while she begins an affair with her driving instructor. As Toshio reads each new chapter, jealousy and anxiety start to blur the line between fiction, accusation, and confession.
