A young woman witnesses a killing from her hotel window and is left in a traumatized, nearly mute state. Sent to a secluded sanitarium to recover, she finds herself under the care of the very man she saw commit the crime. As her memory begins to return, the doctor works to keep her confused and discredited, using his position to control what she says and what others believe. Inside the institution, every attempt to reach the truth puts her in greater danger. Vincent Price is the physician tightening the trap, while Lynn Bari plays the patient struggling to make herself heard before the murder is buried for good.
