An elementary school teacher from northern Italy arrives in a poor town near Naples expecting a routine assignment and discovers he has been sent there by mistake. Instead of orderly classrooms, he finds children who skip school, families shaped by poverty, and a local code that respects force more than lessons. As he tries to teach, every day turns into a negotiation with students who see little reason to listen, especially one boy already being pulled into the habits and status of the neighborhood’s gangster life. Paolo Villaggio plays the outsider teacher as his ideas about discipline, authority, and education keep colliding with a place that runs by very different rules.
