Armando Feroci is a fortyish man with a long record of failed responsibilities: ex-husband, careless father, unreliable brother. After he is kidnapped in an Arab country by an integralist group and condemned to death, the film moves through flashbacks told by the friends trying to piece together how he got there. Carlo Verdone is Armando, a vain, erratic presence whose life comes into view through other people’s stories, with Regina Orioli among the faces in his orbit. The mystery of his disappearance frames a comic portrait of a man who has left a mess behind him almost everywhere he’s been.
