The Cat and the Canary
ComedyHorrorMysteryThriller87 min
Twenty years after Cyrus West’s death, his relatives gather at his brooding mansion for the reading of a will that names Annabelle West as sole heir—provided she can be judged sane. Laura La Plante is Annabelle, suddenly trapped for the night with a houseful of disappointed family members, a vanished lawyer, and rumors that an escaped asylum inmate known as the Cat is somewhere inside. Creighton Hale’s nervous Paul Jones adds a comic counterpoint as doors creak, shadows stretch, and every new disturbance seems to cast doubt on Annabelle’s claim.
