The Old Dark House
ActionAdventureComedyDramaHorrorThriller72 min
A violent storm strands five travelers in a remote Welsh mansion, where the eccentric Femm family offers shelter that quickly feels more dangerous than the road outside. Boris Karloff's Morgan, the hulking mute butler, moves through the house like a warning, while Melvyn Douglas and Gloria Stuart are among the soaked guests trying to make sense of their hosts. James Whale fills the place with creaking rooms, candlelit hallways, drunken outbursts, and the uneasy suggestion that something upstairs may be even worse than the family gathered below.
