The Beguiled
DramaThrillerWarWestern93 min
An injured Union soldier is taken in by a secluded girls’ boarding school in Civil War-era Virginia, where his recovery unsettles the women who have been living apart from the fighting. Colin Farrell is Corporal McBurney, whose presence draws the attention of headmistress Miss Martha (Nicole Kidman) and the students and teacher under her care. As courtesy gives way to jealousy and shifting loyalties, Sofia Coppola keeps the story inside the quiet, candlelit house, where desire, resentment, and the rules of the school begin to turn against each other.
