The Maids of Wilko

DramaRomance118 min

In late-1920s Poland, Daniel Olbrychski is a small factory manager who collapses at the funeral of a close friend and retreats to his aunt and uncle’s country home. The visit draws him back to Wilko, where a household of sisters once revolved around his youth and his affections. Now the years have altered everything: one woman he loved is gone, others are tied to unhappy marriages or private disappointments, and the youngest still looks at him with expectation. With Anna Seniuk and Maja Komorowska among the women at Wilko, the film turns on memory, missed chances, and the uneasy return of old desire.
