Jour de fête
Comedy86 min
A distracted village postman gets badly sidetracked when a traveling fair rolls into his small French community, then decides to speed up his deliveries after too much wine and a newsreel about the American postal service. Jacques Tati is the flustered mail carrier, wobbling through conversations, errands, and increasingly chaotic bicycle rounds as the locals look on. Guy Decomble and Paul Frankeur are among the familiar faces around him, filling out the village crowd. Tati also directs, building the comedy from fairground bustle, everyday routines, and visual gags that turn a simple mail route into a chain of interruptions.
