Ah! The Beautiful Priestesses of Bacchus

ComedyMusical95 min

When a small-town policeman hears that “naked women” are dancing in a local variety-theater revue, he goes to inspect the show himself, balancing his duties as guardian of public morals with obvious curiosity. Robert Dhéry is the officious lawman at the center of the commotion, with Louis de Funès popping up in the bustling supporting ensemble. The film frames the investigation as a comic parade of backstage confusion, theatrical spectacle, and musical revue turns, with dancers, performers, and stagehands all feeding the misunderstanding as the officer tries to determine exactly what kind of scandal has landed in town.
