The Thunder of God
ComedyDrama91 min
Jean Gabin is veterinarian Léandre Brassac, a misanthropic heavy drinker living with his wife Marie on a remote estate, where he shows more tenderness to animals than to people. When Léandre decides to shelter a young woman with no bearings, the sealed routine of the household begins to shift. Michèle Mercier is the stranger taken in under their roof, with Robert Hossein among the figures drawn into the tension around her arrival. The story stays close to the manor and its inhabitants, balancing rough humor with the strain of an isolated home suddenly forced open.
