Intimate Lighting

ComedyDrama74 min

Two childhood friends, both classically trained musicians, meet again in a small Czech town after years apart. Karel Blazek is the cellist who found success in Prague; opposite him, Zdenek Bezusek’s violinist has stayed local, making money playing provincial funerals. Their reunion unfolds on the eve of a town symphony concert, where old familiarity meets the gap between the lives they ended up leading. Moving through rehearsals, family homes, and everyday obligations, the film stays close to conversation, music, and the low-key tensions that surface when a long-delayed visit goes beyond catching up.
