Josie and the Pussycats
Comedy98 min
Josie, Melody, and Val take their small-town garage band from local gigs to a major-label deal, only to find themselves inside a glossy pop machine built on manipulation. Rachael Leigh Cook is Josie, the frontwoman suddenly pushed toward fame, with Tara Reid and Rosario Dawson alongside her as fellow Pussycats Melody and Val. Around them, Parker Posey and Alan Cumming steer the music industry chaos as executives with their own agenda. Drawing on Archie comics and early-2000s pop culture, the film turns record deals, celebrity branding, and teen stardom into a conspiracy involving subliminal messages and a band trying to hold onto its identity.
